Started in September 2016, the SINGAPORE VALKYRIES GIRLS RUGBY program has grown from three girls to almost 100 across several age groups, U10, U12, U14, and U17. Our program is open to girls from all clubs and we welcome girls with any level of experience from the ages of 8 to 17. We train at Centaurs Rugby ground on Saturday mornings and Tanglin Rugby Club on Sunday mornings. We tour competitively to HK and other destinations in Asia and aim to improve our rugby skills while forging strong friendships. In an effort to develop the sport around the region as well as support less fortunate communities, we have initiated an annual tour to Cambodia that supports the efforts of Kampuchea Ballop to use sport to build self-esteem and discipline with their kids. In 2017, our group also hosted Singapore’s first international girls’ tournament, the TRC Singapore All Girls Sevens Tournament. Our 2018 tournament is scheduled for the December 8-9.
